So there’s this blog called the contentment experiment. Finding it made me feel content. I felt connected to the blogger as if he was speaking for me, speaking my thoughts in his words. I felt at one with ezparz.
I’ll have to keep coming back here periodically to check out what he has to say because [...]

I can talk all I want about whether art is spiritual or not, about whether the art world has lost its way, but the bottom line is that any opinions about art, especially current art, are subjective. Who knows what’s good? Who knows what will stand the test of time or affect humanity in amazing [...]
Connectivity

I want to write some poignant post but I don’t feel the need. I’m finding that when I feel connected to the people in my life- who I originally wanted to have deep connection with and thus turned to blogging- the need to write decreases.
How much of what we create would not exist if who [...]

Posted an essay on the nature of things we partake in to ‘take the edge off’ in life. It’s in my pages/essays section. If you partake in them…and feel guilty… then fear not. I give you permission here.

Here is an inspiring article on the relationship between art and spirituality. And here is my response. I gotta go long on this one.
It is passionately written (and is similar to this beautiful passage by Dorothy Sayers.) But it’s thesis is at the core of my criticism of current art, as well as devoid of [...]
Who am I to criticize?

After writing my couple posts about contemporary art I keep getting this nagging feeling that I’m wrong about my judgment… Then, again, I read Contemplator’s latest and felt all base and unenlightened that I was judging people, criticizing. So I will do as the Zen Master says, I’ll turn it on myself:
What is [...]

Several hours after my last post I was buttering a piece of toast and I had a moment where I thought I was completely wrong about art, that fresh new art is created all the time. But then I realized that I create new art (or Contemporary Art, which is now an old, confusing [...]
What are we really doing?

Most of my posts are attempts at enlightening people out there, articulating my path. Most of the blogs I’ve found are doing the same. Contemplator, What’s Missing, Carsten Fleck, Zenshredding, Wiccanwanderings, and probably thousands of others. Different words describing a similar journey.
But we all must go back into the world after we post. We [...]
ego is divinity

The end result of the ego inflated until it’s maximum point of gluttony- which can only be done in the mind anyway, as the mind has no obstacles- always leads to the divine. It eventually merges with what we think of as the opposite of the ego: the highest self.
Just try it. Take your [...]
What is love?

This of course is the number one question searched on Google beginning with ‘What…’ The answer to this question is related to the answer I gave to the previous post’s question and it’s also the reason why I’m admittedly a hypocrite.
I said before that the person within you who is capable of observing yourself observing [...]
